:'( :'( Met caratjuice this AM to detect a local beach in the Seattle area. He found a silver quarter and some clad and I just found some clad. Met another guy who had been there since before daylight and he said he was disappointed as he usually found 12 or 13 dollars in clad and a few pieces of jewelry after a holiday on this beach. He said a local man who lived in a house on the hill overlooking the beach must be keeping it cleaned out pretty well. After 4 hours we gave it up as a lost cause, but enjoyed the hunt just the same. It was good to meet one of my fellow T-netters and just visit for a spell. I promised Nana40 some pics but guess who lift his camera hanging on the coat rack this morning? I don't function well at 4:00 AM and just walked right out and left it here. Blame it on Monty the maroon! :D Wish I had a find of a lifetime to share, but you can't do that if you keep putting that coil where it ain't! The GTI 2500 operated quietly on the salty sand and wet sand but wouldn't pinpoint near as well as on regular dry land or turf. Monty

a good time.

And to think that I had just reminded you not 4 hours before! I said "Jim...don't forget to take the camera with you, you know we will want to see those pics!" :D

But...that's ok....

Really glad you got to go and meet up with a buddy! I know ya'll had a great time!

I never have any luck on salt water beaches here in WA just a few silver jewelry finds. Most of the time the salt water is too cold or scuzzy for people to swim. Try some of the lakes people actually swim there, though not as much cause it's getting cooler. Also the parks are pretty decent.

I've made the long trip to the beach only to find nothing, not even enough to cover the tolls on the way back... so I know how you feel.

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time and learned something about hunting saltwater beaches and other than getting to meet a fellow T-netter, that was mainly why I went. If I learn something every time out it is well worth the trip and thanks to caratjuice I did. The weather has been beautiful here and at the beach it was a crisp 58 degrees with a little fog out on the sound and a pleasant little breeze blowing in from the ocean. The tide was low and we got to see some areas and flats that are normally submerged, and that smell of the salt air is invigorating except when you get downwind of an expired aquatic creature! ;) Although cool it was not cold while at home 58 degrees is down right chilly. Seattle is a beautiful city for the most part and of course we made all the tourist traps. We went to Mt. Rainier and my granddaughter called it Mt. Raindeer! :D My wife was describing it to my son back in Oklahoma and called it Mt. Saint Everest! I'm not sure just exactly where I did go now! ::) We went to the Market Monday and I have never seen so many people! I wanted to see the guy throwing fish but found out you had to buy a fish before he would throw it! I could just see myself carrying around a slimey stinking 10 lb Halibut all over downtown Seattle, so needless to say I was disappointed. There ought to be a mandatory fish throwing law where the guys at the fish market are required to throw fish at the tourists! ;) Heck, I'd settle for a minnow! Anyway this has been the first real vacation Kay and I have been on since the kids grew up and we are enjoying ourselves. I have been getting up at daylight as is my custom and hitting a few of the local city parks just to get my MDing fix every day. Just did some coin shooting but had fun and learned my way around town. But tomorrow it is time to go home and I am about ready, getting a little homesick and missing my stupid dog who has probably dug up my coin garden and ran away like that other no good worthless mutt. Gosh I miss him! Back online from Oklahoma day after tomorrow! Monty
