While checking the Florida beach cam's yesterday I saw a surfing event taking place. Got out there early this morning and found a ring in shallow water right in front of the set up they had. It is marked 14k FG, is this Fine Gold or Filled Gold ??
Found my first Boat !
The water is getting colder, and if people do go in this makes it easier for rings to slip off. It's wet suit time...

I believe "Gold Filled " is an older process and is typically marked "GF"??
Nice find regardless and way to use the beach cam to your advantage.

Great finds. I couldn't count the number of sunglasses I have found, unfortunately most of them broken. Monty

Let me enlighten you, as you will see that insignia often, on fine quality pieces. "FG" stands for Frederick Goldman, a fine jewelry maker and that is his mark, fyi.

Gulf Hunter is correct, FG stands for Frederick Goldman. John

Congrats, that's a Beauty, and for some resaon, white gold has a better resale the yellow gold. go figure

That is an awesome ring! Definitely 14K white gold. The design on the ring is really cool - way cooler than your run of the mill smooth wedding band.

Nice work!

That is for sure 14k. I have three with that marking. I researched it when I found the first one. Somewhere way back in the posts on here I did a post about all of the varied markings for plated, filled, etc.

Great find.

DaChief!
