Beach Finds - Silver & Gold
Hey folks - I've been following this forum for a couple months. Check it every day and have picked up a TON of helpful tips and insights. I've been hoping to find something worth posting and I think I've finally done it. Got up really early and headed out to the beach to get a couple of hours in before the crowds arrived. Got lucky and found my first gold. It's a 14k engagement ring. Looks like about a .6 or .65 karat diamond with a couple of small diamonds on either side. Looks to be several years old as the band is worn thin at the bottom and it shows some dents and dings - but still perdy. Also pulled up a large, heavy men's silver ring with 4 unidentified stones. The band is stamped 925. For fellow Ace 250 users, the gold ring bounced between foil and nickel on the display. I figured it was yet another piece of foil and scooped it up without much thought. When I saw the gold and sparkle I was pretty surprised! After that I was digging the foil signals with gusto.
Funny thing is, I always throw away all the trash I dig up but I don't go out of my way to pick up surface trash I walk past. There's just too much. But today I started scooping up large trashy items as I walked past them - bottles, paper plates, drink boxes. I though to myself, this might be good beach karma. If I go out of my way to pick up some trash, maybe the beach will reward me. Right after that I hit gold. Then silver. Also found about 3.50 in clad for the day (2.5 hours).
HH!
