I think I would have set up on the beach though...Looks like the tide was right and shouldn't have been a problem for several hours.

Actually the tide came up quick and the surf was big , guys just over from me had waves coming up to their area and they were scrambling to hang on to the sluices, but main reason is my wife has bad knees and can not make the 4 foot drop to the beach. We had a big storm a couple weeks ago that tore up the beach access.

I certainly understand how the tide can get to ya quickly .... Been there a time or 2 myself...
As to the bad knees..... I can relate to that one too.
