Took out the new Equinox 800 today instead of my CTX 3030 and finally started to get some better depth with the thing by upping sens to 22. This was an iffy signal that I almost didn’t dig, but since my batteries were about to die I figured I would. It was kinda repeatable and jumping around. About 8” down. Thought it was junk so it’s a miracle I didn’t gouge it as I did not dig carefully.

Really beautiful cast brass plate a bit bigger than a silver dollar. My guess is turn of century so not terribly old. Maybe a plate for a doorbell?

I was surprised it didn’t give off a better signal but there were some nails/screws in the hole with it.

Is anyone getting the same of better depth with Nox 800 than their CTX? If so please share your secrets as I’m an Explorer XS guy who eventually upgraded to SE Pro, E-Trac, CTX and now added Nox.

Nice hit Erik. I hunt with a guy that uses a CTX, he doesn’t believe the depth my 600 and 800 get. I had both machines out with me on a recent hunt and I had my sniper coil on the 600 and it was getting hits on targets at 8”. The ground was pretty clean and I had it wide open with sensitivity at 25. My 15” coil on my 800 goes really deep with the program I run, well over a foot on coin size targets, even more on larger targets.

That’s pretty fancy. I’m glad you didn’t scratch it. Congratulations!

Very cool piece- Congrats! I have a Nox 600 and watched a ton of videos and played with the settings a lot before I finally felt it was giving me depth equal to or better than my SE Pro. Field 2, Iron bias 2, Rec speed 3, Sensitivity as high as that area will allow- been working very well for me. I love to experiment with new settings though- locate & mark a target, change settings to see the reaction. Continued success to you!

That's an old doorknob plate, and a nice one too

That's what I thought.

The styling is 'Eastlake'. As you surmise, turn of the 20th C.

Thanks! It was deep, off to the side, a scratchy signal (I thought junk) and I was digging like mad :laughing7: --it's a minor miracle it wasn't gouged. I'm usually better than that, but new machine, iron in the hole, and frustrated b/c my batteries were dying :BangHead:
