Welcome to Tnet! Good finds. Where do you live/hunt?

Not saying it is or it isn't but I would post it on What is It forum and you should get some good info on how to tell for sure . I have found metallic looking rocks that upon additional research has proven they were nothing but High in Iron content. Meteors will normally be unusually heavy for their size, magnetic and rather smooth due to the melting heat of entering the atmosphere....but not always! Good Luck and I hope it is real. Finding a true Meteor is on my bucket list. Hunter

Meteorites will stick to a magnet, rocks will not. Hope that helps!!!

I'm not sure where you live, but here in northern California many of our rocks will stick to a magnet.

The best way is to actually take it to a university and have it examined. It is magnetic, does have smooth black melt lines, does not leave red or black marked when rubbed against inside of toilet tank lid, and is not porous, also it is much heavier than any other rock of it's size. I have an appointment to allow ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY to study it, if it is real, I will get a certificate of authenticity and most of it back in one piece, or the whole thing if it is just a standard iron meteorite.
