beep beep whats that in the hole ?

doing a little field detecting was digging a target and this was in my hole AWESOME FIND and target was a nail but see sometimes it pays to dig those targets you just dont feel so good about. i have found several in this area before but never found one in hole i was digging

I have actually witnessed this before! My friend who got me into archaeology and then metal detecting, did this. He got a good coin reading, dug his hole, pulled the black chert point from the side of the hole, and then never located the signal again... We tried to point too of course, but it is just normal black chert from Pa... Crazy...
Your point is about twice the size his was... Id maybe just start digging plugs randomly at your spot! Heck, you proved that you just never know!!!!

Thats why I dig every signal. You just never know. That is one heck of a nice artifact. Looks unbroken.
