Detector(s) used
Minelab X-terra 70, AT Pro, Tesoro Tejon, ML X-terra 50
Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
Ok, for moderate to good ground, where I'm planning on pretty much digging everything (except nails, where I can identify them) what detector is considered best in the following categories (can be ground balanced):
1)sound quality
2)build quality
3)ease of use (including weight less than or equal to 4lbs or can be hipmounted)
4)potential depth of detection

Agreed, or a Tejon.

Depends on what your hunting for...............

Hard to go wrong with a Minelab Sovereign GT, it will null on iron, tell you when there is gold by the iron, and still tell you the iron is there if that is what your hunting for.................... :icon_thumright:

Good luck............

One of the reasons I'm not pursuing the Minelab Sovereign GT is that I've heard from guys I trust that its a much better detector in bad ground and only so so in good ground.

Just FYI......I have 2 Sovereign GTs, use then in Florida which is good ground and it is a fantastic machine both on land and the beach.....

Another vote for the Vaquero. Hits deep, great target separation.

Agree on the Vaquero or Tejon if buying new. Tesoro Eldorado umax or Bandido II umax if looking for used.

I have to go with Tesoro.
Unlike some other companies, :angry1: Tesoro is second to none in customer service and......LIFETIME WARRANTY.
