I stopped to get gas after work today and I when I was getting my change I noticed a two dollar bill in the register... I asked the clerk if I could have the two in my change and she said yes... I was pumped to get it. After getting my change I was walking back to my truck counting my money and I then noticed something else... I couldn't believe it..... A 1934 5 dollar star note... What are the chances... Well I couldn't wait to get home and post this thread to share with you guys.

there may have been much more in that register.

Congratulation on finding some treasure in your change!!

I know you stated it's a 1934 series, but there are several different 1934 series, there are ...a plain 1934, a 1934 A, 1934 B, 1934 C, and a 1934 D.

The B series is the most valuable, followed by the plain 1934 series.

I'm just curious is yours just the plain 1934 series?

Here's a website where you can get an approximate value to your 1934 $5 Silver Certificate, just click on the appropriate link on this website.

Edit: After typing all of that I was looking at your picture again to see if I could see if it was an A or B, etc., and I notice that your's has a yellow seal!!!!!

These are 1934 A series $5 North Africa Star Notes, and bring the highest value of all the 1934 $5 Star Notes!!!!!

Checkout this link and they may even be interested in buying yours even though it not is the best condition!!

Wow that's awesome... I didn't know what the yellow seal was all about... Now I've been educated on it. Thanks for sharing that info.

Regardless of the condition those are 2 really cool finds... Especially at the same location.. Congrats..

Those are a neat find, I have been finding a few older coins in my change lately.,times are getting tougher so watch your pennies and the rest will take care of itself.
