I hit a new spot today and what a bastion. found 6 wheat pennies, my first merc dime (1941) and an Indian head penny (1895). We also found some clad. Now I have to figure out how to get these wheaties clean from all the crud!

Sounds like a good day to me. Congrats, nice finds!

Not a bad day at all cybball!

As far as cleaning the wheats up goes, theres a number of good posts on here concerning the matter.

I'm no expert by any means but tend to take the simple and less invasive approach.

Rinse the dirt off with hot water and soak in olive oil for about a week or so, then blot dry.

Hope that helps,

Chris

Nice Indian head I'm still searching for my first IH penny way to go.

Put ur wheaties in hot peroxide and let them bubble works amazing.
