Best day of hunting ever

I traveled 300 miles to see my oldest son today and teach him how to swing a coil, we haven't been seeing eye to eye for 30 years, but today that changed, I brought him a metal detector, Pro Pointer & digging tool. After teaching him the basics of how to run his machine & properly dig & replace a plug we hunted a Frisbee course, school, & park. The first thing he found was a "good luck" horse shoe then a woman's broach and coins, the items weren't valuable, but the new friendship & memories of today are priceless.

Congrats on mending your relationsship with your son! As a parent, I know that must have worn on you to not have a good relationship with him! Maybe you can share the hobby with him from now on? Give you something to do together!
