My husband has really gotten into metal detecting in the last year and has mentioned that he could use some accessories for Christmas but has failed to give me any specifics. I know that he already has a Minelab Safari and a pinpointer that he seems satisfied with.

Is there anything that might be a "must have" that could go with what he has already? Or books/reference materials that might be helpful?

We're located in SC and he's mostly interested in colonial and pre-revolutionary coins, buttons and other relics.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!!

Yes,
Buy him either a Lesche Samson 31" shovel with a T handle or a Lesche ground shark 38" shovel with a D handle... These are must have items...
approx $64 and $87 delivered...

Google "Metal Detecting Gifts" takes you to a café press site..lots of swag and novelty items.

Speaking as a man who likes tools and tech, CASH is the best, it never fails!

Thank you all for your help, great suggestions!! I'll definitely be getting one of those shovels as he has complained about his current one a lot. Thanks again!

What type of PinPointer? This year For my birthday my wife got me a Whites TRX. Its awesome. A few years ago she got me a display case for my 'finds'. Another few great gifts from my wife were a camel back, GPS, and sunglasses. Something that I have seen and liked was a hands free metal detector harness. Me personally, I like the gifts that compliment the hobby not specifically for the hobby.

You might get him a nice pair or two of gloves for detecting. There's a brand I really like that molds to the fingers well and is breathable called atlas 370. Not sure if they make them in mens' sizes though.

Headphones if he doesn't already have a pair.
A strong magnifying glass.

One of the best gifts would be encouragement from you and you showing an interest in his finds!

They are slammed with orders so you better call them make sure it is in stock then order the shovel,, or the Piranha.Predator tools.

Just buy at Amazon and you will be fine...I wish I had a wife that thought like you do :)) merry christmas...

If all else fails, books for identifying & valuing his finds or history books for researching. Then again, if he's my age a pair of kneepads & a big bottle of Aleve for a stocking stuffer!:laughing7:

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Hi detectorswife, and welcome.
All are great suggestions.
I will add that a quality "finds" pouch and belt are also essential.
A viewing loupe.
Gold/silver test kit.
GoPro camera for when/if he makes videos.
Powerful flashlight.
Raingear. Waterproof footwear included.
Plastic bags, zip ties, duct tape.
Most importantly, a big hug, everytime he walks outta door to go detecting!
GL
Peace ✌

A garrett pin pointer and garrett shovel would make any metal detecting husband happy in my opinion.

A back rub when he gets back would also be nice.

If he is using a cheap pinpointer like from harbor freight, a good one like a Garret pro pointer makes a HUGE difference!

A comfortable set of knee pads if he takes a knee to dig or a butt pad if he sits to dig.

Personally, I use a hunting vest with multiple pouches instead of a finds belt and bag. I like the weight on my shoulder, not pulling my pants down.

A quality digger like a lesche.

A subscription to one or more metal detecting magazines is a great gift as well.

A powerful compact magnifying glass is great.

A shadow box to display some of his best finds.

A thin pair of gloves that have good dexterity.

A fishing vest is great. So many pockets for batteries, tools and all your accessories.
