Best Male singer of all time? What say you

funny there aren't as many replys as best female singer, huh? this one is harder, I'm not sure who I think is the best .....hmmmmm

Elvis really did have an awsome voice, wish all the surrounding drama hadn't got in the way. I'd say elvis, just on that voice, it was one-of-a-kind, and I'm not a big Elvis fan.

naturegirl. I think you're right ...this one is harder. I almost went with Freddie Mercury. :dontknow:

Oh me too!! Another talent gone too soon, I always wonder what else Freddie would have sang.

I think Sinatra with Elvis a very close second but then the type of music comes into play and you have Crosby and Jolson.

Yall are right this is much harder to choose... :icon_scratch:

I have too many favorites to list just 1..

:coffee2:

Van Morrison

& Todd Rundgren come to mind

Sinatra is not even a singer....

He is a crooner.... Even in the crooner class, Jim Morison beats him hands down. :laughing7:

Besides, Sinatra can't even come close to talent as the next 2 artists I present :headbang:

As for pure male vocal I'll go with Bobby Hatfield....

Then again, we can't forget the man with the greatest and range of all time... Roy Orbison :headbang: :hello2:

Since I'm into blues/rock, I would say my favorite 2 male voices are Jack & Ian

If you don't know these 2 outstanding performers, you grew up like a veal :laughing9:

1- Jack Bruce from Cream

2- Ian Anderson - Jethro Tull

Jim Morrison???????????????????? Heck Spart, this underated front man sang circles around Morrison! :headbang: :laughing9: Check this out!

Again, Morison was a crooner... not a singer. There is a difference in the styles.. Jim didn't have the best vocals, but he was a good crooner. Gary was a singer and most others mentioned were singers.. I think Elvis would cross over from crooner/singer, but not a true singer either

Surprised no one spoke up for Eric Burdon yet- I had the pleasure of buying this man a pint a few years back :)

Who says white men ain't got no soul?

I Listen to the old country.. But I have sure taken a likin to that rock band "NICKLEBACK"

Another powerful male vocalist is Jon Secada... And to think he was a backup singer for Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine...

Even in Spanish it rocks... What a voice

Actually the answer is Howlin Wolf.
