I went out this morning to metal detect.:metaldetector: I got the usual farm junk. The first day of Fall was miserably hot in Ohio! But these were a couple neat finds.

What kind of butterfly is that caterpillar? Nice fall asters girl.

The wonderful things of nature can be found just about anywhere if you look them.
 
Geesh! I have been trying for hours to get this post! Too much internet action, I think.

My best uneducated guess is that it is not a butterfly but a moth.
Gold Moth, Basilodes pepita, an Owlet moth
Family: Noctuidae
Subfamily: Amphipyrinae
