Well been weeks now since I last posted any finds, rest assured though I've not been neglecting my duties. Had a very good flow of hammered silver coins. All though, have been cut ones. As most know in medieval times, full coins where cut into fractions to act as small change. On certain medieval sites these fractions were lost in large quantities over the centuries. Enjoy the picture, been watching all that snow on the news, keep warm and safe.
Robert.

That many and all cut? Thats strange. Lots of change lost there! :icon_thumleft:

Lots of money was being exchanged westfront, over a many years.

You're right, i sometimes forget that you had hammereds well into the 1600s. Thats a long time.

Rob,

Nice selection of cut silvers.

True Westfront hammered silver pennies first widely appeared in the 8th century in England.

Wish we had a site like that right now, but we are happy enough to have any choice.
