What a awesome day of detecting for me!
Started out the day at the Park that I found the 1892 s Barber dime a few weeks ago. Spent a good 4 hrs there, put a couple hrs on the deus till it drove me nuts, But I did find a 1912 s wheat which is a semi key date but it is pretty toasted. After I went back to my CTX I was able to sniff out a Cherry 1920 s Merc, And of course it was under a root and I scratched it..lol Finally got tired of being there and needed lunch So I left
I almost went home since my knee was bugging me but the curb strips were calling my name
I ended up hunting the curb strips for 1.5 hrs and Killed in IMO. I found 5 or 6 wheats right off the get go, then the 2 other mercs. Rounded the corner and started the next curb strip and didn't get much. Almost left again, But I looked across the street and figured I would hit the curb strip across the street then go home. I found a few more wheats and then got a rocking 01/44 signal about 7 inches deep. I wasn't thinking it was going to be a coin since there was a bunch of conduits deep I had been struggling with in this strip. But Boom out popped this first year Walker!!!!!!!!!!!!
1916 S Walking liberty Half!!!!! This is my 6th walker but the first early one and a semi Key date !! Don't give up on those curb strips, there is still stuff in them
