Picked up this mirror for $8, score!!!Not sure what the 500 is for? Design number? Looks pretty old, it's heavy too. Any help with it would be appreciated. 20190402_213915.webp20190402_214117.webp20190402_170003.webp20190402_214133.webp20190402_214006.webp

Looks like a 5$ score to me.

Great score! That thing is huge! And the design is great!

Good score. I scraped the last one I found. I would say yours would have around a 100 + grams, based on the few I destroyed. I've found they don't bring as much compete on eBay with shipping added as what I can get at the PM buyer with no listing fees and all involved with selling as an antique. Also I believe most who buy silver on eBay anymore are looking for deals on scrap and not paying so much, but there are exceptions based on what and who made it. Meaning I would not trash a sterling mirror if it was made by someone like Georg Jensen, as that would be pretty stupid of me.

Yours is pretty unique. I wouldn’t scrap it. I’ve never seen one like it and that’s coming from a guy who works at the silver refinery part time...

Yeah, that could sell well in an antique store. To clarify I'll only scrap the ones that are beat up and rattle with busted filler inside.

I agree, most of them you can’t sell.
