Biggest wrench I've ever see

Found this yesterday in a yard where part of the brush was cleared back. It wasn't deep at all and seems to be made of iron. It's at least a foot long. I also found this piece of iron chain in the same area,no idea what it is.

I'm fairly sure your wrench is for an old lathe or other piece of machinery. It has hex for the lock nuts and squares for the set screws.
Nice find.

I have dug that type before in fields but not for as many applications as yours Nancy. The ones I have found are for wagons or hose drawn mowers. They are fun to find. i bet you were thinking artillery relic??? HH, Q.

You know me well Quindy,my brain was mulling whether it could be a buggy wrench or even something for a cannon. In any event,I should probably keep that sucker under the bed if Steve goes out of town.

Hey lady.... That's a little wrench... :tongue3: I watched my dad in 76' onward carry with a friend HUGE wrenches down the production line while working at a GM stamping plant.

And if your starting to find chain links and such... turn around because your starting to cross into my turf. What the hell girl.... lets dig'em up together.... :occasion14:

I did find part if a chain something or other,Ruh roh!

Nice wrench, throw that puppy in some white distilled vinegar and after a while you might get some info off of it. Wire brush it first, then hit it with a wire brush every time you change the vinegar. Probably won't take but a week or two or three. I bet if there is something stamped on it you be able to see it in no time.

That wrench appears to have been lost by a multitasker :dontknow:

Very odd wrench CG. :icon_scratch: Speaking of odd, if you find and screwdrivers please send them to Quindy. The Tenn Trio have quite a few screws loose. :tongue3:

That's a big one all right.
It's also a custom wrench for a specific use.
Cool find.

Looks like you found the original "one wrench fits all"! Nice find!

I doubt anyone would give you a hard time with that in hand! You can fix their problem and then some! Lol!

the wrench came from a kit in a around 1920s car. the big hex hole is for hubcap, the small square hole is for the plug on trans & rear to check fluid.
