I haven't been out peddling in awhile, but I felt like it early this morning. Along a trail that follows a creek though town I ran into a group of turkeys. This is the first I've ever seen any in the metro area in all the 36 years I've lived here. It looks they may have found a nice strip of wilderness where they can call home. I guess they're no different than a lot of folk in Colorado anymore always looking were they can find a little spot they can call home.

That looks like a beautiful place to call home alright.

They have set aside some nice openspace areas in the county, but most of the agg lands are now being developed and re-zoned. Any place they can cram in a new apartment complex is what they're doin these days. All up and down the stretch of Colorados interstate 25 has just exploded in growth in the last 20 years. I guess the turkeys are thinking the same thing as all the other folks coming to Colorado, as now they're filling in the areas open to their liking.
