This was Saturdays hunt.
In the morning we tried 1 area of future bird cover as this will not be drilled until May. It was a bust other than blank buttons.
After lunch we started on another bird cover area with little success.
So Cru'dad suggested trying a nearby crop-mark which we had scouted years ago & crossed off the target list. As I got close to the area I stumbled onto a Celtic Coin, which explains the lack of finds in the area. We gridded around it & blanked, so decided to head back to the car.
As always I'm looking for signs on the ground & I decided to swing off course & detect over a big stone, & a couple of pacing past it, out popped a Roman Silver! (lucky) We gridded this area & got a Roman Mount & that was it!

3 Scrappies
Lead Spindal Whorl
17th C Leather Mount
Cloth Seal
Roman Conical Cavalry Mount
Very poor condition but I IDed the Celtic Bronze Unit as an Extremely Rare Tasciovanus Sea-Horse Type.8-)
Roman Silver Denarius of Commodus AD181

These recordables make it our best Apr totals ever, following our best Mar ever!

Cru', in your experience, is it typical when finding anything Celtic for signals to drop off for the area you are detecting ? As usual your finds are pretty amazing. Those finds would be banner finds over here. :)

Most Iron Age (Celtic) sites have very little metal evidence. Its kind of 1 coin or nothing, although you may get the odd brooch or two.
