Detector(s) used
Started with a Minelab xterra 505. Then Equinox 600 with stock coil, xl coil and sinper coil depending on circumstances. Now use a manticore mostly or oversized coil on equinox.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I've been trying to keep the streak going of at least one silver thing my birthday weekend since I dug my first silver on my birthday in 2020. 2023 was the only year I didn't get a silver. 4 out of 5 ain't bad. Anyways, I stopped here with a mudlarking friend the day before my birthday but the weather was awful. We lasted a little bit. She got a 193? Washington and I got two silver rosey dimes (1950 and 1961). I went somewhere else the day after to try and sneak out a few things before it gets too overgrown and hot out to bother with but got nothing exciting but a brass cross along the outhouse trail.
Sunday I originally wanted to return to barber beach but due to the heavy rain north of it that site was completely flooded out even at low tide. I ran home and switched around gear. I spent about 4.5 hours moving rocks, sifting gravel, switching between detector and pin pointer.
I'm hesitant to call it a hoard because it wasn't put there by one person or so I think. But definitely done on purpose as it's like detecting a mid century wishing well with iron , silverware and lead bits thrown in for good measure

The hual that day was a 1963 and 1961 Roosevelt dime, two Washington quarters(1947 and 1952), a glass bead, a clock winding key, my first half dollar ever a 1952 Franklin, a military police collar disk and two brass religious medallions. The green skeleton key was eyeballed in dump seam on way out. Plate shard was a convenient piece i had around to hold everything.

Been picking through this mess since summer 2024, couldn't do it during winter and just getting back to it now.

Currently silver weights in at:
86.66 grams of coin silver
24.23 of sterling
