Hello Everyone,

Thought I stay local today and hunt a couple of parks that I've been to before. Didn't expect to find very much, but it turns out that I had a terrific day!!

First, I went to a park in Lakewood where I found 4 silver dimes before. I found the 56 and 63 Rosies there, plus 6 wheaties. After lunch, I headed to Bixby Park in Long Beach. Now, I hit this park at least 5 times before, but I still believed that I had missed something there. With my X8 coil on, I decided to very slowly work the area that produced my IH and Barb. Quarter last month. To my surprise, I had missed some goodies. In addition to 9 wheaties (some in the teens and 20's), I found the winged naked lady pendant (there's a 14 on the back, but I still think its sterling silver), some token that says REID 5c on both sides (help anyone with this??), and my find of the day, a 1914S Barber Dime. It was deep, and I barely heard the wisper of silver in my headphones. Found it at the last few minutes of my hunt at Bixby. It's been a great park for me. Now the question is "did I leave any other goodies there??". Maybe ;D

Totals:
1914S Barber Dime
56, 63 Rosies
41 Merc (found yesterday at Arcadia Park in LA)
29 Wheaties (counting yesterdays hunt also)
SS winged naked lady pendant
REID 5c ??

Happy hunting,
CAPTN "SE"
Dan

Congratulations on some very nice finds. If it were me I would be heading back as soon as I could.

Very nice. That Barber looks to be in good shape. No site is totally hunted out. You just have to work harder and smarter for your finds.

Mike

awesome finds there !!! keep em comin dude..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wow, they are some awsome digs. I'm sure you will be back there again. Good luck

Congrats on the nice finds! You might try the park during the rainy season or when the ground is very moist, moisture amplifies a lot of targets but you probably know that. HH, Mike

Sweeeeeeeeeeet silver, Congrats!!!

Can you post a pic of your 1894-? Quarter and 1909-D Barber Dime? Would like to see the condition of these coins from the local area if possible.. TX!

Okay, Mike...here you go. Enjoy!!!
The first pic was one day's finds from Bixby. The quarter was deep...around 7+ inches.
The second pic was one day's finds from a park in Alhambra. The '09 dime was around 6" under a tree root.
