Black Flies and Mosquitos attracted to VLF?

i dont see anything till i wake up so there is nothing there till i wake up :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3:

Could be....they have repellants that work on frequencies to keep the buggards away...maybe the vlf works the opposite.

Or, maybe...once you start swinging your detector your body is heating up giving off that human blood scent....and that's what they're attracted to.

Ok, theres one trip taken care of.
What abbreviation do people use on dating sites for "recently divorced man"? :'(

I think deepskyal hit it on the head.

I know skeeters are attracted by the carbon dioxide of exhaled breath.

Mosquitos are attracted to carbon dioxide. So...if you hold your breath then you should be safe! ;D

Actually, once while detecting a playground, an asian lady asked me what I was doing. I told her that I was removing all the metal garbage to keep the area safe for the kids. She said, "Oh, I thought you were catching mosquitos." ???

That's a good question. . . I've always wondered that also.

All I know is a lot of those little buggers hide in the deeper grass and when
I start stirring it up by swinging my detector, they'll come out to "play". . .

Watercooler is right, loop sters up the grass so is treasure tom about the breathing part

Interesting theory..... I don't see those little nuisances 'til I'm down on my knees and diggin'. They always seem to find your eyes too.
