Blooming Lamb's Ear

I can't recall seeing one bloom before, so took pictures of it for you.

...gotta figure out how to focus this macro better... a tripod would probably help!

Re: Blooming Lamb's Ear

They are an unusual looking plant, Granny.

I'll take a picture of the whole plant for you, tomorrow.

They are all soft and fuzzy... a grayish green.

They are a good plant , heat tollerant

Re: Blooming Lamb's Ear

Hey Extractor...

Heat tolerant will be a good thing, here!

We were at 100, then it dipped down for the last couple days.

In a few months it will get over 115.

The Lamb's Ear will get no shade.

Very poor soil here with limestone down only inches. A past tenant had made a few efforts at building the flower beds around the house, but they are not much to speak of. They do produce a lot of amazing flowers though.
I'd rather have 'maters, squash, and halapenos!

...Yes, I don't think I even knew they bloomed... There's a yucca plant blooming across the street, now.

Spring has sprung?

Looks great!! One thing though, in the house my wife and I had before we moved to NH, we had lamb's ear growing and it can really TAKE OVER an area! It's pretty invasive - but on the good side, it has really shallow roots - if you pull one out though, make sure you get all of it cause if not, it'll be back next year :)

Will remember that...

Here's what our's look like.

Have you got a better specimen?

Re: Blooming Lamb's Ear

Hey that lambs ear might be a good way to choke a few cactus! LOL.
I just can't seem to forget the run in I had with a cholla in AZ....Certainly the meanest cactus I ever ran across. Literally.

PS...115 degrees huh? That's a tad on the warm side for this fella.
