We found a pair of vases at an antique market in Belgium that we couldn't resist, however, our expertise in Chinese ceramics is limited. These vases are well-made and heavy with intricate hand-painted designs. We're struggling to accurately translate the identical Chinese markings found on the bottom of both vases. Attached are some images. Any insights into the origins and potential value of these vases would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ~

Thanks for your response - we have already searched Google and was able to identify one of the 1 characters "great" The rest having a hard time to get an accurate translation. Not sure if the second row accurates translates to "Nian Ming" and if this is of any importance.

I would take it to an expert. Even in-person, these things can fool. You may have a repro, a counterfeit, or a legit artifact. :dontknow:

You should watch some YouTube videos by Peter Combs
