BOLT or cannon shot? UNSURE.. ANYONE KNOW?

I found this in a civil war area of Florida.
It appears to be a BOLT in a shape resembling an oil filter however I am unable to find any pics similar to this design online. Can any one point me in the right direction?

Sorry about giving you bad news, but it is definitely not an artillery projectile, from any era of artillery history.
