A bomb squad safely deactivated a live Civil War-era piece of ammunition after it was discovered in Maryland last week.

While working back in the 70's a guy told me they found a Civil War cannon ball [or whatever] at the job & brought in to the office, He said it was on the boss's desk a long time but finally it was a door stop. Somebody said the think should be checked, A bomb squad took it to be sure it was ok but it blew up....

I had heard about this. Do cannon balls blow up? I just thought that they were just fast moving balls of metal that slammed into people.

I’m confident there is more artillery out there ..don’t know if land mines were made back then also
