I had a bitter sweet day today. I saw the guy that had told me he had lost a civil war button - the one I had found on the surface 20 mins later. So, I gave it back. But I also found some great things today making it pretty sweet.

A new field was available today and it seems like everyone was finding great stuff! I believe it won't be available tomorrow though so I might go door knocking w/some of the guys instead.

Today I found:

1858-1901 Victoria Dei Gratia Regina silver 5 cent piece (Canada) made into a love token.
1900 Canadian Large Cent.
1889 or 99 Indian head,
1905 V Nickel, and
Lock, bell and other neat relics

A buddy of mine, Jim, also found a love token but his was on a 3 cent piece. There was also someone else at the hunt that found a love token. All of them have real nice intricate and fine detail so we are thinking that someone in town was making them. Unfortunately, the date on mine was on the side that was removed for the love symbol.

Cool finds with a very nice love token. Congratulations!

Wow. Not sure you should consider that a bittersweet day. You got the opportunity to do the right thing (and did) and you found some killer finds. I can tell that if you hadn’t taken the opportunity, it would have bothered you. Well Done.

That Vicky love token is now something on my bucket list.
