bottle find 1935 woodbury's beauty cream

took the detector into the woods behind my house and after digging up several promising targets i found this little bottle about 4 inches down. after a good cleaning i found that the bottom reads "woodbury's 23", at least i think that what it says. i did the google search thing and all i have found so far is a post about child labor at the woodbury bottling factory in 1909. if anybody as any more on this bottle please let me know. thanks in advance and good hunting.

Re: bottle find help needed

Your jar is what we call milk glass. It is from the Woodbury soap co. and yours was used for Woodbury's Cold Cream. It will date sometime in the 1930's or the 1940's. Do a Google search on Woodbury's Cold Cream and you can find out more. Tennessee digger

Good, glad to help. Tennessee digger

I found one in the creek while fishing the other day exactly like yours but mine is numbered 11

I found one yesterday at a construction site which looks identical but is numbered 8.

Very nice, congratulations! :occasion14:
