Tannic acid either in over the counter remedies, or you can just steep tea to make a strong brew, either soak body part in it, or soak a cloth & place on skin. Frankly, I get Poison Ivy so bad, I have to go to the doctor, but this worked for me in the past with a minor case.
Be sure to wash everything! The oil can recontaminate for years. Hope yours is a mild case!!

Great stuff. Load up on ibruopen, tylenol or whatever painkillers you have on hand. They work as good for itching as they do for pain. Good luck.

Salt paste

I got a patch of it on my arm and it was awful. I was convinced I had gotten into a thermonuclear poison plant :help:. Guess the detector arm support cup really worked the evil oils into my skin. A tip I got from a fellow digger that really helped alleviate the itching was to make a salt paste and put on the rash. It took away the itching for about 2-3 hours then I would wash it off dry it and do it again. It did not get rid of the rash but made life liveable :tongue3: until it went away.

Cortisone cream works good for me. I put it on thick. It all so helps with the itching.
Had it so bad once my hand swelled up like a beach ball. I had to stab my hand to let the swelling go down. :'(

You got some good finds there. Worth going back. :headbang:

that knife looks nice, is it silver?

my wife uses some crazy concoction of bleach and flour to make a paste for poison, I wouldn't recommend it. ;D

Bleach is a well known old remedy for poison ivy. also Fels Naptha soap.
Don't know if it works on poison oak but worth a try.

nice knife, try homemade lye soap my neice says it works

for her.Like to see what big brown bottle in the box looks like.

looks interesting.Tryed to reply once but guess i didnt do it right.

good luck on your next hunt. :icon_thumright:
