Three times at this local beach; trash and more trash. County dredged sand from 2 to 3miles out in the Gulf, no Spanish gold came with the sand. My finds are; fishing line, several pr. sunglasses,15lb.dumbell, 6 pull tabs, 3pennies, 1 nickle, 1 2014 dime, Sparkler wires, lead sinker, several aluminum tubular pcs., some steel wire.
Also the beach goers at this beach do seem to wear jewelry....no good stuff. I live close by so I chose it for convenience. No more convenience beaches for me! Time to work for it, bring on Normandy.

You usually get out what you put in. Research and hard work equals the good stuff. Good luck

15lb dumbbell??

Wait, this was from 2 to 3 miles out?

You never know until you try.. Wait till spring break is over or go at night when most of the people are gone I'm sure you will pick up some bling. Good luck

Congrats on the hunt.
Treasure shows up when you least expect it.

Dumbbell might equal 18th century bar shot.

Or an anchor. My father used a weight as an anchor for fresh water when I was a kid.

I have hunted Bowditch many times, before and after the dredging, always been the same lots of can slaw, beautiful area. Might have to go south to Marco to look for the good stuff. When the water temps warm up I like to hunt N. Captiva by boat, I put in at Pineland marina and have great access to barrier islands. Good luck with new locations.
