Did a one hour hunt at a church very close to home. I've been there in the past and couldn't even find much clad and saw signs of other detectorist. Figured I give it another chance before dark and it was pretty much the same story until I found a hot spot. Got the wheat, Braided Hair LC, lock and the two Indians last. Pretty sure there's more Indians in this small area. The LC was a surprise as I believe the church is not that old. Besides being toasted it looks worn so probably dropped in the same time period as the Indians. I didn't think LC's were still in circulation by 1900

These are IHP # 49 and 50 of the year. I couldn't imagine finding that many when I bought my first detector in February

I've read that they were still in circulation as late as the 1920's

WTG Toasted. :occasion14: Looks like you pulled a fist full of keepers. What depths were the coins? I'd love to dig all them in a hunt.

No more than 6". I think past detectorists missed this little spot as it is on the edge of church property. Or possibly is the only area where fill dirt wasn't brought in

Congratulations on the very productive coin hunt!
