While hunting historic castine maine I found this at a construction site.Any help in identifying this artifact would be greatly appreciated.It is the size of a quarter and very heavy.A small threaded shaft broke off the back which has no markings at all.It appears to be made of brass and is about three pennys thick.I found it across the street from a main historic fort in castine.Thank you and good luck hunting.I found a few other artifacts in maine which I will be posting soon.
