Wish I could take credit but my son actually found both plates. One on Friday and the other today. They were around 100 feet apart at an old home site. There's no visual above ground evidence of the home but when we started digging signals we were hitting old brick and mortar. We also found a couple old hoes that looked like trenching tools and an old clothes iron. The kind you had to heat up on a wood stove. Dug up 2 flat buttons nearby also. The brass plates were our best finds so far.

Good to get the matching pair!

Awesome finds! Congrats to your son!

Very cool to get a matching set. One of my first good finds was a heart heel plate

They are in great shape and a pair

Glad you had time to to get outdoors. Everytime I think about going detecting, it either rains or is too cold-Nice pair of Heel taps-goldnugget-Charlotte-NC

GN. If it's not rain or cold them it's mosquitoes and ticks. It's rare to get a perfect day!

Sweet pair of heel plates. They would look terrific framed and on display.

Very nice HH! Those are really cool, and to find a pair... bonus!

Being that you were out with your son, I couldn't help but laugh at "... we found a couple of old hoes..." I wish that my dad rolled that way!
GL&HH!

My son went back to the spot he found the heel plates and dug this I button yesterday. Now I'm really jealous...LOL

Very interesting find! Keep searching more recoveries await you and your son.

Very nice set of heel plates, and well done on the button recovery.
