I wasn't going to post this find, but it's driving me nuts! I really need to know what it is and how old it may be.
I found this brass item about 8 inches down, so I'm thinking it may be old. But it still has a piece of wood attached to it, so maybe it isn't that old. It looks like a hinge or a strap. Could also be a hanger.
