i found this near an enfield butt plate trigger guard and trigger plate and quite a few bullets wondering what it is its all brass 079.webp 084.webp

It's 3 inches across the top and 2-1/2 inches at the bottom

Any picture of the bottom of that lid ? Mine seems to slowly cone downward 1/2 an inch also would they have a corks in them if it is what it is doesn't seem like it would seal well ?

It could have been used on a buggy wheel hub cap, just a guess.

Since the diameter is 3 inches and the horse is highly decorative, I think it's the lid to a vintage brass trinket/jewelry box. Neat find :) Breezie

No chance any canteens had tops like this is there?sadly I have dug many parts of a plow distroyed bullseye canteen close to it

The map tube idea got me thinking I am wondering if anyone thinks this could be a field telescope lense cover have seen some plane brass. Responses would be greatly appreciated !
