It is very thick and my first thought was a shotgun shell end but if so it had to be like a 8 gauge lol..thank you for input

It looks like it's made of copper, so I'm thinking maybe the end cap to a religious scroll, parchment or document?

you are correct Dave..after looking at it more closely it is not brass..it is copper..tried to change thread but couldnt find out how..but it looks to be some kind of cap... not sure ..sorry to mislead anyone but it is copper
