🔎 UNIDENTIFIED brass piece ??

I found this and was wondering if anyone has seen one before. Found in a ranch field that has been around since the mid 1800s.
About 1/4” high - 3/8” wide and about 2 1/2” long. Made of brass and no broken parts.
Not much of anything else found to attach any ID to. Did find an 1800s suspender clip though.
Any thoughts are appreciated

Sorry but your picture doesn’t really help. Almost looks like a hex or Allen tool would fit into it.

I wasn't referring to the screw head in the upper right.
This brass piece looks like it would push into something on either end and lock with the raised arrow like ends,
Real head scratcher.
Guess I'll toss it into the scrap bucket.

Interesting thought, but it isn't shape enough to pound into a handle.

Back of the boat is on the right track, it’s a wedge to secure two pieces together that have corresponding pre drilled holes. The best example I can think of is the wedge pins that hold the teeth onto an excavator bucket. Really old guns also had them to secure the stock to the barrel.

The piece you found seems to be one half of the backhoe or excavator tooth keeper. The number for the part is 195 -7200 flex pin it fits Cat DRS200 series teeth. Look at the pictures and see if you agree. Google the pics.

Sorry Bruce R put me on the track for finding them, but Bruce made a great I.D. I should have known what it was as my family does a lot of heavy equipment work.

This does look a lot like flex pin and I think you may be on the right tract.
My hunting partner has the piece right now so I can't check, but I'm pretty sure it is brass.
It wouldn't last very long as a tooth pin.
I'll check it out with a magnet and get back to you.
