On Saturday morning my friend Mike and I hit a garage sale that advertised some pretty decent stuff. We got there just as they were opening. He headed up the left side of the driveway and I went up the right. On the jewelry table I picked out some 10k gold earrings and a few pieces of silver. Came to $9. Then I heard my friend ask the lady, "how much for the watch?", she said $2. We bought a couple other things and headed back to his truck. Then he shows me the watch and says, I think it's a Breitling. I looked it over and nearly fainted. I told him it looks like a genuine Breitling Aerospace, probably in the $1k range. I told him to put a battery in it and let me know how much he wants for it. At around 3pm he calls and said he brought the watch to a jeweler, paid $6 for a battery and the watch works perfect. Then he said, the least they sell for on ebay is around $700, it's yours for $350, Merry Christmas. I bought it on the spot and am in love with it. The only flaw on the watch is it's missing the 30 minute bezel marker, but it looks like an easy part to get. It's good to have friends in our business.
