This bridge crossed the North Fork of the Shenandoah River in Front Royal, Virginia since 1941. It has been replaced. The last of the steel spans were demolished yesterday morning (2/3/08). The middle section across the river was not blown into the water, but will be disassembled piece by piece.

Sad to see them go, but progress 'marches on'.

Fossis...........

Very cool video, did you tape it yourself? Our bridge was just torn down but it took them about a year. :D No dynamite here in the sticks.

No Sara, wish I did. I arrived before they stopped traffic and made us leave for awhile. A friend of mine took this.

Thanks for asking.

Wow thanks for sharing that. We would cross that bridge on some of our trips back to PA making our supper stops in FR.
