While brinks dime boxes(the only ones available in my area it seems) have never been fantastic for finding 64 and older, lately I am getting more skunks. Don't think it's unusual at this time, but it is iritating. Did score a 1901 almost totally black Barber two nights ago though, cool.

Awesome! I think that honestly, its the increaseing productions of new coins and not new CRH that is adding to the competition. Good lich and good hunting!

I recently posted that I had gone through $5110 in Brinks clear wraps, and never found a single silver.

Today, I bought another $60 worth because I thought I would be getting paper wraps...but the teller handed me clear. I just took them because they are so easy to dump. They were all skunks too.

I can easily say that I've done $5170 in Brinks clear, and that is a low estimate. Yet, I've found 5 silvers in the last 4 days from paper wraps. These are the first silver dimes I've ever found in the past year of searching.

Maybe I just got lucky on the 5 dimes, but I'm wondering if someone isn't pulling the clear wrapped silver rolls before they ever get sealed in the boxes, at least in our area.

Well, guess it's just hit and miss. Did $1,000 worth yesterday and ended up with 6 good coins. Much better day than usual. I'll take it.

The very first dime I ever did was a Brinks box and I found two silver dimes. I have probably done twenty more and found nothing. On the other hand I continue to get the String and Son boxes and typically score a silver dime each time.

Dont give up you will hit it i did 1250 dollars in dimes brinks clear rolls last week and found over 20 roises and my first merc just hang in there and my cwr rolls gave up 6. happy hunting ron

Clovis97: you said, "Today, I bought another $60 worth because I thought I would be getting paper wraps...but the teller handed me clear. I just took them because they are so easy to dump. They were all skunks too."

Do you just take the clear-wrapped skunk rolls to a dump bank as is? My dump bank only takes loose change (I found out the hard way when I took back my first box of halves, which I carefully re-wrapped). Taking them back as is would certainly make things easier (though, to be honest, I'd really, really love to be forced to open each one to get at a silver dime ;D).
