During lunch last Wednesday, I had to rush home to pick something up I forgot. And there was a garage sale around the block from my house. Midweek sales have always been good for me! I ended up with a trunk cover and mirrors for my jeep for a steal(brand new). And as I was leaving, there were a few walking sticks and canes stacked together. I knew the top of one was Silver immediately. I asked the young couple how much and they said $3. I immediately grabbed three of them. The silver tipped cane is marked "Queen's Royal Lancers IX" along with I think initials "C" and "B". I think it was a military cane possibly used for ceremonies or something. I have not researched it further yet.

Awesome. I never see walking sticks at sales around here.

That's a killer score for $3.00!! It looks like maybe Birmingham, England with a date letter for 1888. Great find and in decent condition too!!

Sounds like a great score.

I had one but It had a sterling handle from 1930 and I sold it for $80 plus $15 shipping. It was pretty beat up. And yours looks pretty nice compared to what I had. You should do well!!

Thanks guys! I sent a message to the museum to see what they say. Also flintlock, Thanks, I forgot to check the hallmarks and it looks like 1888 Birmingham is probably correct. I knew it was before the amalgamation with the 12th in 1960, but no idea it would be from the 19th century. You just never know what folks will have in their basements. The couple had bought the house for a rental property and were clearing out the basement.

Nice keep us updated as to what the museum tells you.
