Brooch, button, I don't know

Found in the woods about 4 inches down.
The four holes makes me think it had been
sewn onto something, but I REALLY don't
know.
The Kennedy is for size.

I think the holes were for tiny nails...like off a jewelry box or decoration on a dresser.....

I agree most likely attached to wood rather than leather. Some sort of furniture/box decor.
