Well I have two good sites to go to. One produces buckles, but no buttons. The other produces buttons, but no buckles. Neither are producing any coins but I have hope.

The buckle missing the tongue has a great design and some nice gold gilt still left over.

The other buckle says 1860 and is some kind of garment buckle.

The Tombac is plain. On the back I think I can read NDARD then CO or SO.

The small button with the gold center is one of my new favorites. There is a heavily soiled ring of gold on the outer rim but not sure if I am going to try any more heavier cleaning since I don't know what material the red ring is.

I don't think its quite as old however based on the shank design, but not sure.

:whip2: :angry5: :blob9: (Nine year old son looking over my shoulder wanted to pick some smilies)

Thanks for looking and HH

Thanks. Yeah I hope so. at the buckle site there are tons of pulltabs so I'm hoping the previous detectorists just cherry picked the silver

Oh yeah... but the downside is while the button site is 2 minutes from my house the buckle site is 45 minutes away.
