Bugler insignia pin?

I found this little guy the other day. It was laying on top of the ground at an old homestead trash dump. Not sure of much about it. Any help would be appreciated.
The homestead probably dates to the early 1900's. It wasn't much (at the time), just a half dugout/adobe. Probably one room. Now it's just a depression in the ground with an old cistern.

Thats funny my spell check did that it seems to make my spelling even worse than it allready is lol
