I found this yesterday in a field where I have found some .69 calibers and a few Civil War cuff buttons. I'm not sure if this is a Civil War era bullet or more modern. It has only 2 grooves and a solid base and weighs 35.3 grams. I don't have calipers but the diameter is a little smaller than a U.S. penny. I hope the pictures help. Any info on this bullet is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Frank

It appears to be a civil war era "New Model" US .52-caliber Sharps Rifle/Carbine bullet. Shown as bullet #113 in the "Handbook Of Civil War Bullets & Cartridges."
