Bullet ID Please

Found this bullet on the edge of a park today. I Don't know much about bullets, but it looks old. Could someone ID the cal. type and age. Thanks

by my book I would say it to be a M&M 185 carbine 1858 also known as a ringtail sharps.
52 or 54 cal most likely.

I agree with the Sharps .52 cal.

It would help if you provided measurements or weights - but I think fortbball9 is right.

Caliber is the diameter in decimal inches. Let us know what you get. If it is a .52 caliber, it will be 52/100 of an inch. I find it easier to measure it in mm and convert to decimal inches.

I measured it with a caliper and came up with 51- 55 100th. It has a flat spot where it kind of flopped in when it landed. The weight is around an oz. also around 30 grams, my scale is not digital. Thanks
