I worked for Weabers sawmill in Lebanon county Pennsylvania in the late 80'sfor a few months we were getting tree's from near gettysburg that were full of lead . i had quite a few of them I dug out of scraps and ends of logs that were cut off due to discoloring.not sure whatever happened to them

About 20 years ago or so, my brother bought a 2 sets of book-matched oak veneers that had perfect remnants of a CW lead slug.

Unfortunately the veneer was earmarked for a set of doors for a the new Brea City Council Chambers....and couldn't be used.

Being under a 1/16 inch, the lead would have fallen out eventually...
