Here's my tale of Bum Run Grad... I even heard it was on TV at one time.
As I stood in line at motor vehicle department a fellow spoke openly with a woman he knew regarding surgery he had just recently undergone.
More or less middle aged, he had his own business, did well, prospered, and DID have insurance.
His back got worse over the years 'til he couldn't stand it.
Somehow, some way, his insurance would not cover it.
He went to a couple local specialists, he appreciated their fine credentials, was poked, prodded and diagnosed. Then he was priced... at $85,000 for a full service fix on his problem.
He said he could have paid, but just couldn't do it, and looked for options.
He was told of Bum Run Grad, a very large, ultra modern hospital, in Bangkok, Thailand.
They have EVERYTHING online... procedures, prices, outpatient fees, meds, everything.
Well, his words, not mine, "All the physicians are Oriental, and the administrators are German, as it should be." Payment must be made in advance and everything is easily arranged, as that, is what they do.
He claimed his cost for the surgery, including his hotel room the night before, and recovery and outpatient for a few days after came to a bit under $10,000 including his air fare both ways.
I interrupted his conversation and asked him to write down the name for me...
He said, no. "Just remember a bum on the street, running, into a graduate doctor," he said.
It worked for me!
He was pleased as he could be with results of his surgery, and all aspects of care that had been provided.
...and wasn't bashful about it!
If you, or someone you know, is in need of a major surgery, you may wish to consider this option.
Everything you need to know will be found if you google Bum Run Grad Hospital.
