A friend of mine from Arkansas who grew up near where the battle of pea ridge occurred remembers when he used to visit his grandfathers house in the 1950’s that his grand dad had retired civil war cannon scattered around his property filling in as gate posts and wind breaks. He never knew what became of them, but I’ll bet some relic hunter got them and made some quick cash.
